Eye Contact
Good eye contact is one of the easiest ways to come across as confident and interested, and one of the best ways to tell whether she's interested.
It signals confidence
People tend to look away when they feel insecure. So holding eye contact while you talk, ask someone out or lean in for a kiss reads as confidence, for almost no effort.
It shows interest
Looking someone in the eye is a clear but subtle sign of interest. Both people know what it means, yet it's low-key enough to use anywhere, with anyone, without seeming inappropriate.
It tells you who's interested
If a woman holds your gaze, especially one you've just met or from across a room, there's a good chance she's interested. But you can only notice if you're willing to look back. Keep your eyes up and be ready to meet someone's gaze.
It works outside dating too
Eye contact while someone is talking shows you care about what they're saying. People love attention, and this is the simplest way to give it.
Practical tips
- Let the other person break eye contact first (see Cheat sheet).
- Soften your gaze so it's warm, not a stare.
- Practise in everyday conversations until it's automatic.
