Benefits of a Red Pill Father
A Reddit discussion on what kind of daughters a strong, benevolent father tends to raise, and why that matters for men looking for a partner.
Two kinds of "alpha" father
The author separates the cold, manipulative "dark triad" type, whose daughters he expects to be unpredictable, from the "benevolent king": a father who makes the final decisions, counsels people when needed and doesn't tolerate nonsense, yet is warm and respected. Another member had described such a man, his late uncle, in a post called "The Death of a Patriarch". Even a feminist relative admired him.
Traits of women raised by such fathers
In the author's experience they:
- Are comfortable in their femininity and happy in a supportive role that complements a man's leadership.
- Rarely test men, because they can tell a confident man from an insecure one instinctively.
- Turn men down kindly, without making a scene, since an advance doesn't threaten them. (In his insecure days, their warmth fooled him into thinking he had a chance.)
- Are loyal, having seen the value of a long-term relationship with a good man, and unlikely to throw it away for a fling.
- Are emotionally mature and self-controlled.
- Are relaxed about intimacy, trusting the partner they choose.
- Lead among women: calming anxious friends and bringing out the best in them.
Why it matters
Just as a man can aim to be a "benevolent king", a woman can be a matching "compassionate queen". Knowing what you're looking for helps you recognise her, or someone close to it. The author believes couples like this are stable and inspiring, a quiet counterweight to the problems the Red Pill describes. His example: Mufasa and Sarabi in The Lion King, and Simba and Nala as the younger version.
