6 Scientifically Proven Things Men Can Do To Be More Attractive

From Alpha Up Wiki

Six small changes linked by research to men being rated more attractive, as rounded up by Business Insider in 2014. Each is a nudge, not a magic trick.

The six

  1. Wear red. In studies, women rated men in red, or framed by red, as more attractive and higher status. Red seems to signal confidence and dominance.
  2. Heavy stubble. Women in one study rated heavy stubble as more attractive than clean-shaven or full beards, especially for short-term relationships.
  3. Sit up straight. Open, expansive posture is read as confidence and power, and made people more likely to get a "yes" in speed-dating and online-dating experiments. See Cheat sheet.
  4. Smile less (at first). Researchers found women rated men who looked proud or a little brooding as more sexually attractive than men grinning broadly. Don't overdo it. Being warm still matters, and an intense stare can come across as creepy.
  5. Build muscle. A muscular build, especially broad shoulders relative to the waist, is consistently rated attractive. See The ONLY 4 Exercises You Need to Grow Stronger.
  6. Sweat (from exercise). Studies suggest compounds in male sweat can affect women's mood and arousal. This doesn't mean skip the shower. The likely real-world version is that fit, active men smell different from sedentary ones.
