Women in Love
Rollo Tomassi's companion piece to Men in Love, built around one line: "Men believe love matters for its own sake. Women love opportunistically."
Who are the real romantics?
A blogger Tomassi quotes argues the "women are the hopeless romantics" idea is backwards. Men are romantics forced to act like realists; women are realists who use romance to pursue what they want (in Red Pill terms, hypergamy).
Iron Rule #6
Women are incapable of loving a man the way he expects to be loved. Tomassi stresses the nuance:
- She isn't incapable of love as she defines it, or of real connection and emotional investment.
- She's incapable of the specific, idealised love you imagine. That ideal, he argues, comes from early conditioning and romantic fantasy.
- The moment a man spells out the love he wants, it becomes her obligation, and obligation isn't love.
Living with it
Tomassi says accepting this is painful, especially for a man still holding onto a fairy-tale ideal, but much healthier. "If she's there, she's there. If not, oh well." A lasting relationship comes from understanding this and redefining what love means for men, and from a man staying the kind of partner who keeps her attraction over time, rather than expecting it to be unconditional.
