The Qualification Manifesto
Qualification means getting her to try to impress you, and then making her feel good when she does. It solves three common problems at once: running out of things to say, women giving dull answers, and being the one doing all the chasing.
The difference
Most men spend the whole conversation trying to impress. Qualification flips that. It looks like ordinary questions and compliments, but the subtext is the opposite: you're the one evaluating.
Typical "interview" conversation (an example written for this page):
- Him: What do you do for fun?
- Her: Oh, you know, the usual. Hanging out with friends.
- Him: Cool. Do you like movies?
Flat, and it turns into twenty questions.
With qualification:
- Him: You look like you'd have interesting weekends. Prove me right. What's the best thing you did last month?
- Her: Hanging out with friends, I guess.
- Him: Come on, that's everyone's answer. Give me something good.
- Her: Okay, fine. I went cliff jumping for the first time.
- Him: Now that's a good answer. I like people who'll actually try things. What's next on your list?
What's happening
- Set the frame that you're judging. The opener implies there's a good answer and a boring one.
- Push past the autopilot answer. Nudge her to make a real effort.
- Reward the effort. A specific compliment, a related story, or touch, so opening up feels good.
- Raise the stakes. Ask a bigger or more personal question on the same theme.
That loop gets conversation flowing and lets it move naturally into deeper or more flirtatious territory.
The four steps
- Ask for something: a better answer, her opinion, a kiss on the cheek.
- Evaluate her effort, not her exact answer.
- Reward her for following your lead. That works in every area of life.
- Escalate to the next level and repeat.
Practise it
- Decide what you actually want to know about a woman (favourite place, book, music, sport). Your questions shape the conversation.
- Think of likely answers and how you'd reply, including a playful line for unusual answers ("Croquet? That's the most obscure sport ever. How did that happen?").
- Use it in your next conversation.
