Women are Children
A Red Pill post arguing that in long-term relationships men should expect to lead, because, in the author's view, many women avoid taking responsibility in ways that resemble children. The author says the post is "not anger, resentment or hatred", but a reminder of how to manage expectations.
Context
With casual partners you can ignore small problems; they'll pass, or the person drifts away. In a committed relationship you sometimes have to address issues directly. The author wishes his father had prepared him for that.
The behaviours he describes
- "I can't…"
- Declaring something impossible instead of "I haven't managed it yet." He sees it as giving up agency.
- "I don't know why I did that."
- Treating your own actions and moods as things that just happen, avoiding responsibility.
- "I'm trying."
- Said when a problem keeps recurring. In his view there's only doing or not doing: "you don't 'try' to go to the gym; you go or you don't."
- Shutting down
- Going blank and unresponsive when overwhelmed, waiting for someone else to handle it.
His conclusion
Don't expect a partner to reason and react exactly as you do. Instead, be the steady one, the "anchor in reality", and lead. Expecting the impossible leaves both people frustrated.
