Women Lack Self Control
Appearance
A Red Pill post arguing that men learn sexual self-control out of necessity, and that many women never have to, because attraction works differently for each sex.
The argument
- Men are attracted to most women. From puberty, a boy may find most of the girls in his class attractive. He has to learn to control it: no staring, quick glances only, desire kept in check. Self-control becomes a lifelong habit.
- Women are attracted to few men. In the author's view, teenage girls are drawn mainly to the few high-status boys (tall, athletic, popular), so they rarely face the same constant flood of desire and never build the same discipline.
- Effort vs access. For a man, finding a willing partner usually takes real effort, so success feels like an achievement. The author argues that for an attractive woman it mostly takes just showing up, so sex "just happens" and is experienced as something done to her rather than something she chose.
- The result, he claims, is that when a woman is attracted, she's less used to holding back. He links this to more casual sex in modern dating. (He's clear he isn't condoning anything non-consensual. Men hold back because acting on every urge would be wrong.)
The practical takeaway
A reply to the post makes the useful point: the theory matters less than what you do with it. Most men simply aren't as physically attractive as they could be. The gap between an average man and a fit one is huge, much bigger than the equivalent gap among women. So put down the games, quit porn, hit the gym and improve yourself. A great physique creates attraction that money and attitude alone can't.
